About the role

Are you an enthusiastic and organised individual seeking a casual catering role in Northern QLD? The John Flynn College is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team in a casual capacity. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you will play an important role in supporting our catering operations.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping and cooking a variety of ingredients
• Serving and presenting food to high standards
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, including regular cleaning of kitchen equipment, dishes and workspaces
• Providing exceptional customer service to our students, staff and visitors
• Supporting the catering team with other ad-hoc duties as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a catering or food service role, ideally in a similar environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver outstanding customer service
• Ability to work well as part of a team as well as use your own initiative
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
• Ability to work weekends
