Cumberland Plain Regeneration

The role requires working outdoors in a variety of bushland settings and weather conditions. The team utilises different methods of weed removal from site to site ranging from hand weeding to chainsaw use. Work sites span western Sydney from Camden, Penrith, Glenorie, and Casula therefore having your own transport is essential. Applicants must be reliable, proactive, and be able to follow instructions.

Ideally, we would like someone with bush regeneration experience with strong weed identification skills and knowledge of native flora and fauna and is looking to stay in the industry long term, however, we encourage anyone to apply that has no experience, who is wanting to kickstart a new career in the outdoors. Training will be provided by experienced staff.

Casual roles available working 1-5 days per week.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Chain sawing and Brush cutting
• Hand tool weed removal (secateurs, loppers and similar)
• Backpack spraying
• Planting and watering
• Use of small plant equipment
• Seed collection
• Flora and Fauna surveys

Essential criteria:

• Current drivers’ licence and transport
• Must be physically fit

Must have or be willing to obtain the following:

• Chemcert AQF3
• Certificate in chainsaw operations
• Certificate in Conservation & Land Management
• Working with children’s check
• Police check
• WHS White Card
• First Aid Certificate

Salary

Hourly rate is dependent upon experience starting at: $29.50 (Gardening & Landscaping award: MA000101)
