About you and this position

Join our team as a Senior Library Assistant - Technical Services and play a vital role in ensuring our library collection is organised, accessible, and well-maintained, contributing to a positive and enriching experience for our community.

You will work with a team to process and organise library materials including cataloguing. You will maintain library collections including monthly maintenance reports and participating with inventory. You will provide excellent customer service and collaboratively contribute to a welcoming and efficient library experience.

As a successful candidate, you will have:

• Knowledge and experience in the application of cataloguing and classification rules and procedures
• Demonstrated competence in library computer systems (Symphony, BlueCloud suite etc)
• Sound knowledge and demonstrated competencies in Libraries SA network policies and procedures
• Experience in working with a team and volunteers to meet objectives
• Proven customer service skills in a library environment

This opportunity may be quite attractive for someone who may be currently working in a similar role, but keen to pursue a fixed term secondment/experience with another council.

This position is available on a full-time basis until 8 May 2026, and is classified as a Grade 3 under the Campbelltown Municipal Officers Staff Enterprise Agreement No.11, 2024 and relevant Award.

The preferred candidate will need to undertake a pre-employment medical and submit a police clearance (funded by Council).
