The Role

Job Title: Junior Trades Assistant
Position Status: Full Time
Location: Perth, WA
Reports to: Operations Manager

To address the ongoing need for skilled technicians and to create a structured career pathway, Lyons has come up with an introduction of a Trades Assistant development program. We are looking for an entry level trades assistant who will get a chance to work in various departments of the Lyons business over a 12 month fixed term contract gaining hands on experience, training and exposure to different employment streams and opportunities. At the end of the program, the individual will be assessed for suitability to transition into a full time technician role.

While on the training you will get a chance to assist in the installation, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and electronic components in Heavy equipment along with testing, installation and repair of air-conditioning, pressurisers, filters and other assorted systems on small, medium and heavy vehicles and equipment. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the installation and repair of various internal and external electrical and filtration systems.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A mechanical aptitude or interest in the field.
• A willingness to learn and work in different environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Proven ability to multi-task, be proactive and able to meet deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to use digital platforms
• Good verbal and written communication
• Driver's License (preferable)

Qualifications & Competencies

• Relevant trade qualification or pre-apprenticeship (preferred but not essential).
