I. C. & J. Santospirito P/L are flower growers based out of Torquay and Connewarre. The business has been growing cut flowers in Torquay since 1986. Our business is seasonal with fluctuating work volumes therefore it’s essential that you are able to work flexible hours ( normally Monday to Saturday) Start times can be as early as 6am but can vary depending on weather and other factors.

The Role

I. C. & J . Santospirito P/L are currently looking to engage a farm hand at our Connewarre farm.

The Farm Hand position is physically demanding with many different tasks in various conditions required to be carried out. They include but not limited to the following:

• Working in hothouses and helping setup and clearing of crops.
• Assisting with irrigation, including repairs and maintenance
• Assisting on the mechanical planting line
• Operating forklift
• Use of hand tools and power tools.
• Basic weed spraying
• General maintenance around the nursery

The Candidate

It is essential that you :

• Hold a current drivers licence
• Are physically fit and eager to learn
• Able to work efficiently without supervision
• Show commitment and reliability to get the job done
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Must be an Australian citizen

Desirable but not essential:

• Chemical certificate- or willing to obtain
• Forklift licence – or willing to obtain
