About the role

Phoenix Occupational Therapy is seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions. This is a casual position, offering the flexibility to balance your work and personal life, by working with people in the community with people who have disabilities, and are registered with the NDIS.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify clients' strengths, needs, and barriers to participation in daily activities.
• Developing and implementing personalised rehabilitation plans to address clients' functional, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
• Providing hands-on therapy sessions focused on improving clients' independence in self-care, productivity, and leisure activities.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client care.
• Maintaining detailed client records and documentation to track progress and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Report Writing; including Functional Capacity Assessment Reports, Assistive Technology Reports, Supported Independent Living/Specialised Disability Accommodation Reports, Progress Reports.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a rehabilitation or community-based setting.
• Current Police Check, Working With Children Check and Disability Worker Screening Clearance.
• Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to effectively assess and address client needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with participants, their families, and to collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
• Professional report writing skills to create high-quality and thorough recommendations to the NDIS regarding a person's functional capacity, AT requirements, Housing recommendations.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, client-centred care and achieving positive participant outcomes.
