About us
The International Fiscal Association (IFA) is the leading international organisation on international tax globally, with an illustrious history dating back to 1938 and its Global Office in the Netherlands (see www.ifa.nl). The IFA Australian Branch is the leading independent not for profit international tax organisation in Australia. IFA’s objectives are the study and advancement of international and comparative tax law.
The IFA Australian Branch has a mission to deliver an outstanding professional educational agenda on international and comparative tax law through excellent in-person and online technical professional events and networking activities for benefit of members and non-members. The Branch provides a trusted, neutral and independent platform where representatives of the tax profession, government, academia and business can meet and discuss international tax issues at the highest level.
To deliver its mission, the Australian Branch of IFA holds webinars, seminars and congresses in the field of tax law and other activities for its members and non-members in the field of international tax research, professional expertise and knowledge, with a particular view to the consideration of international tax from an Australian perspective.
In 2026, IFA Australian branch will host the Melbourne 2026 Global Congress (18-22 October 2026), a once in a generation opportunity to host more than 1000 leaders in international tax from around the world.
We are looking for an experienced administrative manager to provide general administrative support services, including coordinating the day-to-day administrative tasks for the Australian Branch in particular membership and events with a focus on the Melbourne Congress. The Australian Branch is managed pro bono by an executive committee of international tax leaders from the profession, academia, government and business in Australia.
The administrative manager will support the work of the executive committee of the IFA Australian Branch, including by providing the following services:
Memberships and member communications
- Maintain member databases, process membership applications, including annual fee renewal reminder, track membership renewals and follow up outstanding subscriptions
- Manage the IFA email address including responding to member queries
- Liaise with the Chair and Secretary of the IFA Australian Branch Executive Committee as needed
- Liaise with the IFA Global Secretariat in relation to the Melbourne Congress as needed
- Liaise with the Treasurer as needed regarding memberships and financial information including support for the IFA Payway payment facility for membership and event payments as required.
Executive Committee meetings (approx. 4 meetings per year)
- Organise, circulate and manage the branch Executive Committee calendar to approx. 16 professionals/academics Committee members
- Work closely with the IFA Australian Branch Secretary to draft and circulate Agendas and Minutes for Executive Committee and other Committee meetings
Seminars and events (approximately 10 per year)
- Manage the annual IFA Australian Branch seminar program (approximately 8 – 10 Branch events each year, and engagement in bilateral, regional and global IFA meetings), including liaising with guest speakers and drafting event fliers
- Work with relevant tax professional hosts of events to track seminar registrations (members or non-members attending online or in person) and attendance provide acceptance lists to relevant hosts ahead of seminar
- Manage the use, subscription and access to the IFA Australian Branch zoom account and recordings of seminars on YouTube
- Contribute to support the IFA Australian Branch involvement and support of various conferences (ranging from a half day to one/two days), such as the IFA Asia Pacific conference and bilateral meetings with other country branches and the annual IFA Global Congress.
- In the lead up to the IFA Melbourne 2026 Global Congress (18-22 October 2026), support the Chair and Secretary of the Congress Local Organising Committee.

- Manage and update the IFA Australian Branch WordPress website (https://ifa-australia.com.au/), and associated domain names, security subscriptions and other elements including liaison with the website designer for updates or revisions as required.
- Proactively promote the activities of IFA Australian branch including by updating and maintaining the IFA Australian Branch Linkedin account on an event-by-event basis.
