The opportunity

Our Capital Works team have an rare opportunity available for a Senior Civil Designer to bring their skillset and join the team on a permanent basis. As Senior Civil Designer, you will assist in the delivery of Council’s capital works program through the provision of civil design services.

This role is an important one within our team, playing a key role in the development and mentorship of the Civil Designers within the team, including our current and future Trainee and Cadets.

• This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
• Base Salary Range: $84,031 - $113,695 pa based on 35 hours + 11.5% superannuation + $18,619.19 motor vehicle allowance + $2,312 retention allowance + civil liability allowance
• You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

• Provide timely, accurate and details design plans and specifications, works as executed, plans and contract documentation for civil works projects to current industry and best practice
• Mentoring of staff and/or contractors undertaking civil design works
• Preparation and administration of consultant’s briefs
• Continuous improvement initiatives incorporating the systematic review of policies, practices and procedures

• A degree qualification in civil infrastructure design or equivalent with significant relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience in using Civil Design software including the use of AUTOCAD, Civil Site Design, and Civil 3D
• Effective coaching and mentoring skills to develop and maintain high team performance
• Demonstrable design, project, and contract management experience with civil works, specifically road, bridge and drainage projects
