About the role:

Sonder is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to provide leadership and manage all aspects of HR, including IR/ER, recruitment, employee lifecycle matters and learning and development. Our preferred candidate has genuine desire to help people, and works across all levels of the organisation, providing an informed, professional and efficient service on all aspects of human resources management and strategy, as determined by the Chief Financial Officer. This includes partnering with senior staff to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark at a senior level in the organisation to make a real difference. Working cross-functionally and in partnership with all Sonder portfolios, the HR Manager will drive the continued embedding of HR in organisational governance, workforce development, staff attraction, retention and recruitment strategies.

What you will do:

  • Provide values-based, cohesive leadership to the People and Culture team, including recruitment, support, coaching and development
  • Provision of sound HR advice and services based on policies, procedures, contractual documentation, industry best practice and legislation to staff and leadership
  • Management of key projects and initiatives, such as staff engagement and retention, culture and communication strategies, leadership, workforce development and data reporting in accordance with Sonder's People and Culture Strategic Plan

What you need to succeed:

  • Demonstratable experience within Employee/Industrial Relations and HR at a senior level with advanced experience working with senior stakeholders
  • Exceptional and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a diverse range of people
  • A keen focus on being responsive and accessible to the needs of your internal customers with a real drive to deliver the best quality service to stakeholders in the most efficient and effective way possible
  • Proven successful and recent experience in a busy HR generalist type role, preferably within a not-for-profit or commercial organisation
  • 5+ years relevant professional and/or management experience

Qualifications and other requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related business discipline.
  • Drivers Licence
  • Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC) through DHS
  • Return to Work Coordinator Certification
