About the role

Atlas Engineering, Earthmoving & Mining Attachments (AEEMA) Pty Ltd is seeking skilled & experienced Heavy Fabricatior, Boilermaker/ welders. This role will involve the fabrication and welding of heavy earthmoving & wheel loader attachments, mainly for earthmoving and mining equipment. This position is casual, working full-time hours with the opportunity to become permanent after 3 months for the right applicant.

What you'll be doing

• Fabricate and weld heavy earthmoving attachments & structures to high standards
• Provide applicable welding knowledge and skills across a varied degree of product and applications
• Provide a highly developed aptitude for general and heavy fabrication applications
• Read and clearly understand technical drawings including applicable symbols, dimensions, etc.
• Demonstrate and apply a highly developed attitude to quality in workmanship
• Apply an advanced level of capability in relation to welding machine set up and troubleshooting in order to achieve quality and consistency of output
• Work to set timelines to maintain delivery expectations
• Work safely at all times and contribute to the ongoing improvement of OH&S performance of the organization
• Commitment to prompt attendance to work duties and the working of overtime/extended hours as business demands require
• Provide input to possible areas of improvement and efficiency gains that may exist within the operation

What we're looking for

• Metal and/or flux core MIG welding
• Multiple pass welding
• Welding of quenched and/or tempered steels
• Be certified to AS1796 Welding Standard
• Alternative to Certification to AS1796, the welder must prove weld capabilities to AS1796 by undertaking a practical weld test assessed by the Weld Leading Hand
• Non-ferrous metal welding is not specifically required for this role
• Position welding is not specifically required for this role
