About the Role

As a Senior Plumber at Dowdens, you will be an integral part of our industrial, commercial and maintenance service team in ensuring high-quality service is delivered to meet client expectations and required standards.

You will also play a key part in quoting jobs, identifying and mitigating risks, providing technical guidance and managing complex maintenance tasks.

This position is based from our head office in Mackay (no FIFO option available). Occasional work infield may be required - accommodation, meals and PPE provided.

Role Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining and repairing large-scale pumping and water treatment systems within industrial / commercial facilities (ie. water treatment and sewage treatment plants).
• Maintaining – Servicing industrial plumbing & pumping equipment.
• Diagnosing and fixing leaks, clogs, pressure issues, and other problems within intricate plumbing / pumping systems.
• Adhering to strict safety procedures related to working in hazardous environments, including confined spaces, high pressure systems, and chemical exposure.
• Understanding complex industrial plumbing plans to accurately locate and repair issues.
• Coordinating with clients, site managers, and project teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Recording of servicing information, completion of reports and other documentation relevant to the job.

Eligibility

• Hold a current Plumber’s licence ideally with Backflow Prevention and On-Site Sewage Facility endorsements
• Possess a strong background / understanding of industrial plumbing, water and waste water treatment plants
• Hold a current manual Driver’s Licence
• Strong problem solving skills, proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities with confidence to work autonomously, manage jobs and lead teams effectively.

Desirable, but not essential

• Hydraulic plumbing experience (the ability to read plumbing hydraulic drawings).
• Machinery Operation experience / certifications.
• Poly Welding qualification
