About the role

One of my key clients, Australia's largest private hospitals is seeking a HR Manager to join their friendly team. This position is open to HR Professionals who are considering between 0.6 FTE to full-time.

They are uniquely recognized for their exceptional patient care and does that through a supportive, close-knit family culture.

As their HR Manager, you will play a key strategic role in supporting the business and its people, ensuring they maintain our people-focused culture and high-performance standards. There is flexibility on the days of work, and you will be directly looking after an Internal Recruiter, HR Coordinator and a part-time HR Administrator.

Reporting to the Director of HR, some of your main responsibilities are:

HRM Advice & Support - Partnering with Leaders

  • Design and implement HRM processes and systems, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, performance development, performance management, workforce planning, remuneration, recognition and rewards, as well as employee relations.
  • Support the management team to embed HRM policies, procedures, programs and initiatives across work areas and divisions.
  • Provide advice and support to leaders to assist them in maintaining team cultures that optimize employee engagement and performance.

Employment and Industrial Relations

  • Working collaboratively with the Injury/ Claims Manager, provide HR advice and support as required for workers' compensation.
  • Provide advice and support for the negotiation and application of the Hospital's enterprise agreements (including drafting, participation in meetings, minutes and Fair Work document submissions).
  • Provide industrial and employee relations support and advice including undertaking investigations and supporting performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Coach and assist the management team with informal and formal performance management processes.

HR Data and Reporting

  • Generate data, undertake data analysis and prepare HRM related reports and information to assist Senior Executive Committee (SEC) and management team to make informed decisions,
  • Manage HRM data and reporting tools to provide timely, accurate and relevant advice to key stakeholders.

Team and Work Environment

  • Contributes to a work environment that encourages positive staff morale, team cohesiveness, motivation and commitment through:
  • Frequent interaction with staff.
  • Implement a leadership style appropriate to the requirements of each scenario.
  • Maintain open and effective communication
  • Construct performance development plans in collaboration with direct report/s to set the performance direction and highlight training and development needs.
  • Monitor and assess performance of direct reports to provide constructive feedback and highlight development needs in a timely way.

The successful candidate has a proven HR generalist background and thrives in a fast pace, diverse work environment, where no two days will be the same. You should have a sound understanding of fundamental HR principles, has an advanced analytical and reasoning capabilities and sound HR Business Partnering skills.

Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills are matched by your ability to communicate and manage the expectations of the stakeholders you engage with. Managing competing timelines and associated expectations is critical in this role.
