Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities? We are seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Health Manager to drive priority Aboriginal Health system projects under the Closing the Gap Agreement and align with SA Health’s strategic priorities. This is your opportunity to lead initiatives that make a real difference in the health services provided to Aboriginal people within the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN).
About the Role:
The Aboriginal Health Manager is responsible for progressing key Aboriginal Health system projects aimed at achieving the outcomes and targets under the Closing the Gap Agreement. This position plays a pivotal role in leading the planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of projects that enhance the cultural appropriateness of health services delivered by SA Health.
You will work closely with leaders from RMCLHN, the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW), and non-government entities, including Aboriginal Health Community Controlled organisations, local community leaders, and patients. The role will focus on improving the health outcomes for Aboriginal people by ensuring that services are culturally safe, accessible, and effective in meeting the needs of the community.

What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience in program and project management roles and knowledge of recognised and accepted project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in aspects of project management such as governance, planning and controls, supports and assurance, risk management, issue resolution, benefits, budgets, reporting, performance management, methods, and tools.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships and communication processes with health care leaders, clients and stakeholders, contractor, and project teams.
- Experience in a range of planning and project work involving both teamwork and individual effort and creative and innovative approaches in a health-related area.
- Experience in working with Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities to resolve complex issues.
- Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team.
