About the role

Bless Ability is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Perth, WA. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalised care, support, and assistance to help them achieve their goals and live independently.

This is a casual position, offering flexibility to accommodate your schedule.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting clients with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
• Supporting clients in accessing community services and engaging in social and recreational activities
• Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met
• Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records
• Collaborating with the broader care team to develop and implement individualised support plans
• Providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for clients

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, working with individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities
• Knowledge of disability support services and relevant legislation and regulations
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently

Essential Qualities and Experience.

• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable vehicle with comprehensive Insurance
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one.
• Current Apply First Aid completed within last 3 years, or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening skills.
