Clinical Trial Coordinator - RN / Scientist
- Part time, fixed term 12 months (0.8 FTE - LSL cover position)
- Fitzroy location

You will be working in a dedicated clinical trial team and be responsible for managing cardiothoracic and surgical oncology research projects. This involves coordinating all aspects of the clinical trial, liaising with other departments within the hospital and with external parties. The role also involves providing all protocol related requirements and ensuring we contribute to best practice research and patient care.
- Knowledge and implementation of clinical and organisational requirements for research activities
- Provide excellent customer service and communication in the delivery of the clinical trial protocol requirements
- Laboratory specimen management
- Information Management - all documentation, information and data management utilises the best technology available. All data and documentation managed to ensure confidentiality, legislative requirements and Good Clinical Research Practice are met.
Please note, this position may be filled by a Registered Nurse or Scientist.
The classification ranges for this position are below and will be commensurate on experience:
Research Nurse Level 1 - RN10 - RN17 ($67,527 - $95,378 per annum pro rata)
Research Nurse Level 2 - YU13 ($102,278 per annum pro rata)
Scientist Grade 1 - RX1 - RX7 ($62,426 - $89.986 per annum pro rata)
Scientist Grade 2 - RY4 - RY7 ($92,627- $104,811 per annum pro rata)
Your contribution
- Qualified Registered Nurse with current registration - essential or
- Qualified scientist - essential (Bachelor of Science/Applied Science or equivalent)
- Qualifications and/or experience working in clinical trials - preferred
- Additional qualifications in allied fields (data management, IT, communications etc.) - highly regarded

About the Department
The Cardiothoracic Research Department undertakes are broad range of both cardiac, thoracic and surgical oncology research projects, including national and international investigator lead trails, surgical comparative trials, device trials and drug trials.
