What is our Senior Social Worker role?
We are seeking experienced Senior Social Workers to join our Sir Charles Gardiner Inpatient Adult Mental Health Service team.
As a Senior Social Worker at SCGH Inpatient Adult Mental Health Service Team, you will be providing an advanced clinical social work service to clients in accordance with professional and departmental policies and practices.
NMHS contains Western Australia’s largest Mental Health Service caring for youths, adults and older adults. Services are delivered through inpatient units, community mental health clinics and day therapy and outreach programs to a catchment area of almost 1 million people. State-wide and Tertiary Mental Health Services include research, forensics, neurosciences, art therapy, eating disorders and other specialised services.

Area Profile
SCGH Mental Health Service, QEII Campus Nedlands Social Workers at SCGH Mental Health Service work in the following service areas:
- SCGH Mental Health Unit: 30 bed Adult Inpatient mental health unit authorised under the Mental Health Act
- SCGH Mental Health Observation Area: 8 bed short stay (24 - 72 hours) Adult Inpatient mental health unit not authorised under the Mental Health Act.
- SCGH Emergency Department Psychiatry Liaison Service: multidisciplinary team providing assessment, support and disposition planning for patients presenting to the SCGH Emergency Department with mental illness 7 days per week.
- Hospital in the Home service: providing in home acute mental health care for up to 38 ‘virtual’ beds managed across two team locations (SCGH and Wanneroo).
