JOCES, a civil engineering consultancy based in Parramatta, is looking for an experienced civil engineer to take on a leadership role. This is an opportunity to manage projects, mentor a young and energetic team, and help drive the future direction of the business.

We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise and an established professional network in the civil engineering and flood risk assessment space.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
• Review and analyse civil engineering plans to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and council requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with councils, developers, and industry professionals.
• Contribute to business development by leveraging industry connections to secure new projects.
• Earn commission on successful project acquisitions.
• Be involved in company growth strategies, with the potential for future business ownership.
  

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
• Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering, with leadership experience preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge in stormwater, road design and flooding.
• A well-established professional network within local councils, developers, or consultants.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and clients.
• A business mindset and growth mindset with the ability to identify and secure new opportunities.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Full working rights in Australia and a valid driver’s licence.
  

Desirable Skills

• Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
• Roads Act 1993
• Local Government Act 1993

• Knowledge relevant legislation, including:
• Experience with stormwater and flood modelling using MUSIC, DRAINS, HEC-RAS 2D, TUFLOW, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Site Design.
• Experience in a small consultancy firm is preferred.
• Land and environmental court experience is preferred.
