The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

Where you can add value
The APS5 Events Officer will be required to undertake activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident. You will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Supporting the event leads in event coordination of face-to-face, virtual and hybrid events including accessibility requirements from planning to delivery and post event evaluation.
- Preparing event and engagement meeting briefs for and working with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally including supporting Minister and senior leadership attendance at events.
- Tracking and reporting on events as well as managing, allocating and providing responses for shared inbox enquiries.

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
- You are a dynamic and proactive professional with a strong background in event management. You possess a good understanding of principles, concepts, and practices related to event coordination and logistics. Your expertise allows you to provide accurate and specialised advice.
- Your ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, often with tight deadlines, demonstrates your resilience and organisational skills. You are proficient in evaluating, tracking, and reporting on event activities, as well as managing procurement, budget tracking, and financial records.
- As a skilled communicator, you excel in managing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including high-level officials and external partners. You are comfortable working independently, exercising initiative and judgment to analyse and resolve issues.

While this role is ideally performed from Deakin ACT, Surry Hills NSW, Darwin NT, Chermside QLD, Adelaide SA, Hobart TAS, Geelong and Richmond VIC, and Perth WA, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of a further 6-month extension may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
