We are seeking a skilled professional to assess development applications related to water supply and wastewater services, determining required consent conditions and evaluating applications under s305 of the Water Management Act and s68 of the Local Government Act. The role requires expertise in water and wastewater engineering, along with a strong understanding of Council policies, Australian Standards, Engineering Design Guidelines, and relevant legislation. Strong communication skills are essential, as the position involves engaging with developers, consultants, contractors, the public, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will provide clear and concise written reports and sound engineering advice to support subdivision and development projects. About the role:
- Provide specialised civil engineering judgment to the assessment and determination of water supply and wastewater aspects of various forms of development.
- Maintain a high level of engineering and technical knowledge and project management skills necessary to assess and prepare conditions and requirements for approval related water and wastewater.
- Provide engineering and technical advice to internal service providers and the development industry in relation to water supply and wastewater system operations, networks, extensions, modifications, upgrades, connections and charges to meet the minimum development requirements adopted by Tweed Shire Council.

We are seeking:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) eligible for National Engineers Register (NER).
- Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater infrastructure planning and design.
- Well-developed research, analysis, creative problem solving, and skills.

This position is based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
