This is an exciting opportunity to help enable proactive and systemic change through the provision of international insights and regulatory collaboration related to online safety.
As the Manager - International Engagement you will lead eSafety’s international engagement team, building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and partners. Your will leverage international relationships to contribute to the knowledge base that informs the administration of eSafety’s regulatory schemes under the Online Safety Act.
The key duties of the position include:
- Cultivating relationships with international regulators or equivalent bodies, and with multinational and multilateral stakeholders.
- Being a central point of contact for all international engagements at the organisation level.
- Providing strategic advice to internal stakeholders, including the Commissioner and senior executive, regarding international entities and global online safety matters as needed.
- Engaging domestically with related entities with an international remit, including the Department, DFAT, AGD and Home Affairs to ensure national coordination and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Collaborating globally to address key online safety issues.
- Encouraging a human-rights based approach to the regulation of online platforms that protect users from online harms and provide for a free and democratic digital ecosystem.
- Promoting cooperation, collaboration and harmonisation across jurisdictions including supporting and coordinating international delegations, capacity building activities and general stakeholder engagement.
- Strategically driving the Commissioner’s international engagements from a stakeholder and organisational perspective.
