About the role

At Expert Care Services', we are seeking a passionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients, with a focus on supporting Torres Strait Islander or Aboriginal individuals and communities. This is a casual role based in Kingswood, NSW 2747.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, promoting their independence and wellbeing
• Advocating for clients' needs and preferences, and ensuring their cultural and linguistic requirements are met
• Participating in the development and implementation of client-centred support plans
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care

What we're looking for

• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, particularly Torres Strait Islander or Aboriginal clients
• A deep understanding and appreciation of Torres Strait Islander or Aboriginal cultures, traditions, and community needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others
• A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable)
