About us:
The Gladstone Emergency Department is a 24-hour public department providing initial treatment for all, definitive care for many, and resuscitation and stabilisation of emergencies or unwell patients prior to transfer to tertiary centres or admission to Gladstone Hospital. The Emergency Department provides care across the lifespan and is commissioning a dedicated paediatric zone soon.
The geographical area it serves extends south, from Mt Larcom to Miriam Vale and west, to Calliope; servicing approximately 62, 660 residents. Approximately 35,000 patients are treated annually in the Emergency Department of which 25% are paediatric.
About the role:
A Nurse Grade 6 (1) is a Registered Nurse (RN) providing nursing services across health settings, focusing on clinical care, leadership, management, education, or research. They engage in clinical activities while supporting Nurse Grade 7 (NRG7) with management tasks.
The Clinical Nurse (CN) serves in a leadership role within Queensland Health, managing specific patient populations and guiding RNs, ENs, and other staff, while ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
The Nurse Grade 6 (1) practices independently, leads clinical decision-making, and assumes professional leadership responsibilities in the absence of a Nurse Grade 7.
About you:
- Registered Nursing qualification
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- While not mandatory, a relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
