Traffic Engineer will provide efficient & effective delivery of traffic engineering services for the community

A reputable and well-established Local Council is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join their collaborative and supportive team. In this role, you will play a key part in addressing customer service requests, evaluating traffic management plans, and assessing planning applications.

Your new role
Reporting to the Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting investigations and preparing correspondence in response to Council and public inquiries, ensuring adherence to established processes and timelines.
• Gathering and maintaining essential traffic data to support decision-making and planning.
• Assisting in the preparation of project briefs, project plans, and contributing to annual budget processes, including the development of Project Initiation Documents.
• Demonstrating a thorough understanding of relevant Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards, Austroads Guides, and VicRoads guidelines in the field of traffic engineering.
• Supporting the efficient functioning of the Traffic Engineering team by consistently delivering high-quality customer service.

What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you will be a qualified Civil Engineer with proven experience in Traffic Engineering within a Local Government environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, enabling you to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will excel at identifying challenges and implementing practical solutions.
