Senior Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer

My client is a Brisbane CBD based Managed Service Provider (MSP) that services small and medium enterprise level customers across the legal, finance and insurance sectors. Due to growth, they are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer to join the team.

The Role:

The Senior System Administrator / System Engineer will operate as a senior member of the team, taking responsibility for delivering technology projects, onboarding new clients and acting as an escalation point to resolve complex requests.

The role offers a great deal of variety in your work, a hybrid working environment and an opportunity to further your experience in the technical account management space.

Typical duties will include:

• Project Management: Scope, plan, and execute IT projects for SME clients, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Technical Support: Provide Level 3 support and manage technical escalations, resolving complex issues effectively.
• System Administration: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Servers, Exchange, O365 and Active Directory environments.
• Network Solutions: Design and implement LAN/WAN solutions, including firewalls, VPN, VLANs, and WiFi.
• New Customers - Assist with the onboarding and set up of new customers
• Projects - Office moves, server migrations, on-prem to Cloud, datacentre moves, setting up business grade phone systems
• Client Interaction: Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and team members to ensure excellent service delivery.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to operate in a professional manner and work closely with customers of all levels to resolve issues and improve their IT experience.
• A strong team player who works closely with colleagues to resolve customer issues quickly and to the best of their ability. Happy to share their wealth of experience and knowledge
• Minimum of 5+ years operating as a Senior Systems Administrator / System Engineer - Level 3
• Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is highly desirable
• Outstanding troubleshooting skills - able to diagnose and resolve issues quickly
• Strong work ethic - Looking for people who want to do the best job possible, offering a fantastic level of customer service along the way

Technical skillset required

• Expertise across the Microsoft suite of products - Windows OS, O365, Active Directory, Windows Servers, Exchange and Hyper-V.
• Solid Azure skills - previous experience migrating from on-prem to Cloud required
• Sound experience and understanding of networking - Configure routers, switches, TCP/IP concepts, DNS etc
• Business grade phone systems - Previous experience deploying SIP, VOIP, 3CX is highly advantageous.
