About The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Engineering Works Assessment Officer to join our Development team and play a key role in assessing operational works and developer-contributed infrastructure. In this role, you’ll provide expert advice to developers, consultants, and the public, ensuring applications meet Council’s standards and align with the Planning Act 2016. You’ll also contribute to refining engineering standards, process plan sealing, and support sustainable development within our region. If you’re passionate about civil engineering and making an impact, we’d love to hear from you!

About You

  • Demonstrated experience and skills in the assessment of development engineering works, construction supervision and/or civil design experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the development assessment process detailed in the Planning Act 2016 and related legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers from diverse backgrounds, including developed written and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous local government development assessment experience highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualification Civil Engineering Desirable.
  • Membership of Engineers Australia, Institute of Public Works Engineers Queensland or equivalent Desirable.
