Senior Speech Pathologist with Neurological Experience- Team Leader

Position Available Now

We are currently seeking a senior-level Speech Pathologist to join our dedicated team of clinicians, all passionate about empowering clients across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Hunter regions. This role is ideal for a high-performing, self-directed Speech Pathologist eager to work with adult clients living with neurological conditions.

We prefer full-time applicants, but part-time candidates will also be considered.

We are looking for someone who would be interested in developing and growing a Speech Pathology team at Levaro, so if a Team Leader role is something you're interested in, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a therapist who:

  • Has significant experience (4+ years) working with adult clients living with neurological conditions and is committed to making a real difference in their lives.
  • Values collaboration within a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals.
  • Enjoys mentoring and supporting peers.
  • Is interested in flexible work options.
  • Wants the opportunity to deliver care both in our purpose-built neuro rehabilitation centre and within the community.
  • Seeks the chance to receive mentorship—something often promised but rarely delivered.
  • Enjoys independence and autonomy in their role.
  • Can manage a diverse caseload of clients funded through NDIS, iCare, My Aged Care, and other private channels.
Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Assessment, recommendation, and mealtime management plan development in consultation with Speech Pathologists from mainstream medical services, medical specialists, and other allied health disciplines.
  • Conduct assessments and provide recommendations on the functional impact of disability on positioning, eating, and swallowing.
  • Assessment, prescription, and recommendation of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) systems under the NDIS and other external funding agencies; this includes the preparation of funding applications
  • Develop training packages
  • Manage a caseload of clients in their natural settings who may present with increasing complexity, multiple co-morbidities, and functional limitations across multiple areas of their lives.
  • Utilise a strengths-based, client-centered approach to support clients in identifying their goals and utilise a capacity-building approach.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team focused on achieving optimal client outcomes while meeting clinical targets.
  • Ability to write reports to a high standard that meets the client's needs.
  • Liaise with and provide therapy and progress reports to the NDIS, Support Coordinator, external organisations, and other referrers/funding bodies as required.
  • Supervision and training of junior team members.

If you would like to be a part of a healthy, growing multidisciplinary team of professionals who love their work, collaborate with their colleagues, and love making a difference, we would love for you to apply.
