About This Opportunity
The Senior Project Officer plays a key role in coordinating and delivering strategic projects for the Property and Facilities division. This role focuses on campus master planning to support effective capital investment as well as stakeholder engagement to enhance asset management and long-term planning.
You will be part of a small sized, high-performing team in an environment that highly values professional development and growth. The role requires a person capable of delivering outcomes within a multi-dimensional, fast-paced and challenging operational environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate project planning, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Conduct research, contribute to project briefs, and manage risks, dependencies, and scope changes.
- Use project management software (e.g., MS Project, Archibus) to support planning and cost management.
- Track project performance, monitor budgets, and prepare reports for key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including scoping, evaluation, and strategic planning materials.
- Assist in preparing business cases aligned with UQ's strategic, financial, and governance requirements.
- Provide administrative support for meetings, reporting, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and the university community to ensure smooth project execution.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and exercise sound judgment when liaising with academic staff, students, communities, and vendors.

About You
- Qualifications with relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
- Demonstrated experience in providing project coordination and/or administrative support.
- Demonstrated project planning experience, including the ability to prioritise tasks, work to tight deadlines, anticipate future requirements and resolve issues.
- A developing understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks and a commitment to professional growth.
- Highly developed communication skills including demonstrated ability to draft project reports and presentation materials.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills using judgement and reasoning in interpreting situations and providing accurate and consistent advice.
- Effective interpersonal skills that enable effective working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders of varying levels of seniority.
- Experience with strategic design, urban planning and/or master planning desirable but not essential.
