We currently have opportunities to join our team in Canberra and surrounding areas.
About You
We are looking for experienced support workers in particular, however we are always looking for a range of support workers. Person centered care is vital for our participants, as well as an individual approach for each supported participant. Support Workers will need to understand the true meaning of a person-centered approach. We’d like a team of support workers to build a professional rapport with our clients, ensuring their needs are met emotionally as well as physically. You will thrive off building your participants capacity, supporting them to live the way they want to but also ensuring that they are not involved in risk taking behaviours, and supported in a way that maintains their safety.
Dahlia Homes is looking for support workers who are able to work with complex participants and high intensity supports. This can include but not limited to Forensic and High Challenging Behaviour. Documentation is a requirement, and therefore you must be familiar with Restrictive Practices, Incident Reports and other NDIS Auditable documents.
To set the benchmark standard of services, we seek likeminded support workers that uphold and represent our core values: EXCELLENCE ~ INTEGRITY & ACCOUNTABILITY ~ COMMUNICATION & TRUST ~ CARE & RESPECT
In addition to our values, our support staff require mandatory compliance:
- 6-12 months minimum experience as a Support Worker
- Relevant Industry qualification
- Manual Handling Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (WWVP Card)
- Police Check- within the last 6 months
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Driver’s License & own vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Additional competencies such as experience and/or qualification in Mental Health will be looked upon favourably. Experience in and ability to work with children, Complex Needs and also Criminal Justice team will be held favourably but not necessary.
