About the role

RIP Contracting is a locally owned and operated company with over 25 years building experience and services the residential, rural and commercial sectors. Due to growth, RIP Contracting require a dedicated and experienced Construction Manager to join our team in Townsville.

Reporting to the Directors and predominantly working Monday to Friday, we are looking for a self-motivated, reliable, punctual and professional future employee.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily management and co-ordination of construction staff

• Regularly assisting building crews with hands on construction

• Training and quality assurance onsite

• Builders list analysis and checking

• Site visits throughout projects including pre-pour, post-pour, and final inspections

• Building inspections including documentation and photos

• Rectifications management and works

• Contractor management and co-ordination

• Liaising with customers, certifiers & contractors

• Preparing Form 16s when required

• Minor building maintenance

• Maintaining & supervising construction quality standards

• Work Health & Safety compliance onsite

• Identify any onsite issues & addressing them in consultation with the salesperson

What we are looking for:

• Experience in a previous Construction Management role or Experience in senior construction supervisory role

• Technical skills and knowledge of a diverse and broad range of construction techniques

• Strong administrative skills with high levels of written and oral communication skills

• High level of computer literacy with an ability to read and interpret reports

• A positive can-do attitude and an ability to problem solve at source

• Excellent customer service skills

• An ability to identify and minimise risk

• Minimum of “C” Class drivers licence, essential

• Certificate IV (or higher qualification) in a related field highly regarded
