- Provide personalised clinic based, family-centered occupational therapy services tailored to each child’s unique needs and strengths.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised treatment plans.
- Regularly evaluate progress and adjust interventions to ensure meaningful outcomes for the child and family.
Communication Skills:
- Utilise non-verbal communication strategies (e.g., body language, visual supports, AAC) to engage and connect with children who may have communication differences.
- Interpret and respond to children’s non-verbal cues to support regulation, participation, and trust-building.
- Clearly communicate therapeutic goals and progress to families in a compassionate, accessible manner.
- Keep accurate and up to date documentation based on policies and procedures.
Commitment to Learning:
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow through ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Stay informed on current best practices, emerging research, and innovative therapeutic techniques.
- Actively seek supervision and mentorship to refine clinical reasoning and therapeutic skills.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current registration with AHPRA to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
- Current Working with Children's Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC).
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric occupational therapy and working with children with diverse needs.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working with children with neurodivergent profiles (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing differences, developmental delays).
- Ability to build trusting relationships with children and families while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a strengths-based approach to problem-solving.
