Senior Security Engineer - Embedded Systems
The Onset
Posted 1 day ago
You've got some knowledge around embedded systems, it might have been a while, but its a space you enjoy.
You might be working in a Pen Testing role, you've spent years breaking systems, finding vulnerabilities, and advising on security best practices, you’ve probably hit a point where you're over consulting work.
You want to own security, shape how products are built from the ground up, and create something that lasts. That’s exactly what this role offers.
In this role, you'll be working with a medical device company, which means security isn’t just about compliance—it’s about protecting real people. You’ll be stepping into an embedded security role that influences both the current platform and the new products being developed. You don’t need to be an expert in embedded engineering (they have people for that), but you do need to understand it well enough to spot risks, challenge decisions, and guide the teams towards secure solutions.
You'll work with architects and software engineers to make sure security isn’t just something talked about but something they actually build into their systems. You’ll be helping secure everything from device connections to the cloud, reviewing code, assessing risk, and figuring out where things need to be tightened up. There’s a lot of technical work to dig into, but also plenty of big-picture thinking—so if you like influencing direction and not just fixing things after the fact, you’ll feel right at home.
The team is a tight-knit, social group that takes its work seriously but doesn’t take themselves too seriously. People like working here so much that a few who left for “greener pastures” ended up coming back. That says a lot.
This role is for someone who’s ready to step up, drive security forward, and own an Security program.
While deep expertise in embedded engineering isn’t required, you must have done some Embedded Engineering at some point in your life. We also need solid understanding of IoT lifecycles, cryptography, and secure software development is essential.
If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, let’s talk.
