Karralyka, located in Ringwood, is a theatre and function centre that hosts a variety of events from professional touring productions to intimate cabaret performances and local dance school showcases. Our functions department hosts school events, formal celebrations and parties among many other events.
We currently have an opening for experienced operations crew to work with our Technical team. This is a contract position that will start immediately with the availability to work a rotating roster.
This role is responsible for the operational aspects of Karralyka’s events; liaising with customers who hire the venue and all aspects pertaining to the operation and use of the facilities and equipment in the theatre. A successful applicant will work in both functions and technical staff, including the preparing of events in the theatre, functions and numerous offsite locations including outdoor and temporary events whilst maintaining high standards of OH&S and safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
Successful applicant will:
- Be fit and healthy enough to conduct a variety of manual labour tasks as befits the nature of the job.
- Have demonstrated experience working in a professional theatre, labour crewing, basic hospitality or ideally any combination of the three.
- Have an excellent work ethic and be a strong team player with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Be able to work a variety of hours including weekends as required.
Preference is for staff who also have the following:
- Experience in event lighting and/or sound setup, patching, checking, rigging and similar.
- Experience in operation of Digico or Allen and Heath sound consoles, ETC Gio lighting console, or other AV switching equipment.
- Experience in supervising events in a Front of House or Back of House capacity.
- All applicants must have the right to work in Australia and be prepared to provide a current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
