If you have completed at least a bachelor's degree in any property development related tertiary course (ie. finance, accounting, engineering, construction management etc.) and are looking to broaden your skillset and gain experience across a range of property development related disciplines, then this may be the role for you.
As a full-time Graduate Project Manager, reporting to the Director of Construction at Whiteman Property & Associates (WPA), you will have opportunities to be exposed to the entire development process, from project inception through to project completion, across a wide range of exciting projects.
As a result of our growing client base and WPA recently being appointed to oversee a variety of exciting residential and commercial projects, WPA is looking to appoint another Graduate Project Manager to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will need to display skills in Project Management, consider themselves to be a team player and enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment that provides exposure to a wide range of projects.
The chosen applicant should have the following experience, skills and capabilities:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Valuation, Finance, Accounting, or any Property Development related discipline;
- The successful applicant must have access to a Victorian drivers licence and a reliable vehicle to assist with necessary site visits and external meetings;
- A proven ability to work within a team and be able to assist on multiple projects concurrently;
- Provide clear communication to clients and be able to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including the client, subconsultants and relevant Authorities.
Key daily tasks for this role will involve the following;
- Assisting the Development Management Team in evaluating Greenfields/ Brown Fields development opportunities.
- Preparing and maintaining Development Feasibility Reports
- Preparing and maintaining Project Budgets
- Preparing Monthly Financial Reports
- Engaging stakeholders across the project to coordinate Due Diligence, Planning, Construction, and Statement of Compliance as required
- Working with legal, commercial and finance teams to assist the client with structuring the deal and working with the financiers
- Liaising with construction teams and relevant authorities in complex environments
- Assisting with the tender process, review progress and variation claims, manage dispute claims
- Managing the development timeline from pre-construction right through to Statement of Compliance
- Ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Industry and safety procedures and processes
- Managing the process for Project Close Off including obtaining bonds
- Attending regular meetings with the Project Control Group (PCG)
- Working with other team members to ensure clear and ongoing communications with stakeholders, broader project teams and construction teams.
Associated with this, the role will involve daily contact with clients, specialist sub-consultants and Authorities.
The types of projects that the successful applicant will be working on will include a range of small, medium, and large-scale residential subdivisions mainly during the post-permit and construction phases. However, there will also be some exposure to projects during the planning phase.
The proposed salary for the successful applicant will be negotiated following the interview process and will be based on the associated skillset and capabilities of the chosen candidate, however this is expected to range between $60k-$70K plus super, noting that the role provides a clear pathway to progress towards an Assistant Development Manager and Development Manager role. Given the growing list of projects being managed by WPA, we would be looking to make the necessary appointment as soon as practically possible.
