The Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and advice in support of Kunwarara and Parkhurst operations. They provide an important link between the engineering and operations teams on electrical and energy related topics. Duties include managing QMAG’s electrical assets and the implementation of a mix of capital and reliability projects from concept to commissioning to enable continuous and sustainable operation of both sites.

About The Role
As the Electrical Engineer, you will:
- Work alongside a mix team of engineers and technicians
- Provide technical advice and engineering support to the operations and maintenance teams
- Manage and assist in Opex and Capex projects, including but not limited to project work scopes, budgets and capital requests, and site installation management.
- Assist in developing scope of works for contractors and engineering review of technical issues
- Identify and implement improvements to electrical systems and equipment reliability.
- Develop equipment lifecycle management strategies
- Perform failure investigations and plant performance analysis for optimization opportunities
- Be responsible for maintaining records of transferor and HV breakers inspection
The Requirements
We are looking for someone who has the following:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in heavy industrial processing environments
- Experience in project delivery from concept to execution
- Experience and knowledge of maintaining HV and LV distribution and switchgear
- Experience in the replacement/upgrading of obsolete electrical equipment
Highly Desirable:
- Qualifications in project management
- Knowledge of maintenance and asset management strategies and activities.
- Experience in working in continuous production plants
- Experience in identification and implementation of energy efficiency projects
