About the opportunity

As the Cyber Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organisation’s systems and data. You'll work within our Business Systems team to support our staff and volunteers. Support our cyber security team to ensure that the information is accessible but protected from internal or external security threats and incidents.

About you

You are:

  • Enthusiastic about cyber security and ensuring systems and services are safe and secure
  • Skilled in gathering, validating and documenting technology and systems
  • Experienced in developing best practice policies, guidance material and business processes
  • Up for the challenge of tight deadlines and working under pressure
  • Experienced in preparing assessments and reports to facilitate data driven decision-making
  • A strong communicator with the ability to foster working relationships and provide guidance to stakeholders

NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is an emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community. We are a volunteer-based organisation that provides emergency assistance to the people of NSW 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is the approximately 9,000 volunteers across the state that make this possible. NSW SES Volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds. They are united by the purpose of supporting their communities in times of need.

While our major responsibilities are for flood and storm emergencies, NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state.
