The Role
The position is accountable to lead a small team and provide strategic advice across a number of functions including:
- JHC Governance which incorporates business planning, risk management, performance reporting, business continuity and Military Personnel Organisation Operating System requirements.
- Defence Health System Assurance which seeks to assure the Surgeon General ADF that the Defence Health System is functioning as intended.
- Contractor procurement advice, guidance, compliance and support.
- Advice, guidance for Joint Health Command project managers and governance of Joint Health Command projects.
- Defence Health System Continuous Improvement and Innovation Program - generating ideas for improvement, prioritising those ideas and providing project management support to project leads to scope and implement improvements across the Defence Health System.
- Contract Management of the ADF Family Health Program.
About our Team
The Directorate of Governance Assurance and Performance is a small integrated team of Australian Public Servants, Military and Contractor personnel. The team performs a variety of functions for Joint Health Command and Surgeon General ADF across governance, assurance and performance.
Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, candidates need to demonstrate the ability to lead multiple governance activities. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge and experience in a broad range of governance and assurance activities.
- Experience in providing high level advice to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a small integrated team, prioritising commitments and meeting critical deadlines.
- An understanding of continuous improvement and innovation programs
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
