A proud family-owned business has which has grown to become a reputable name in the plumbing industry is seeking the skills of a qualified Hydraulic Estimator and Draftsperson at a senior level to handle multi-million dollar hydraulic projects in Victoria, Australia
Duties and responsibilities:
- Research into site conditions for project costing & decision-making processes.
- Collating information for the preparation of tenders & contract bids
- Preparing of sketches, calculations and designs for hydraulic works such as drainage, water supply and sewerage reticulation systems
- Visual strengths to ensure designs on CAD or Revit are accurate and can be conveyed to the team
- Negotiating with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure the desired end competitive price is achieved
- Preparing of material quantity lists for pricing and procurement
- Ensuring adherence to building & plumbing specifications along with standards of performance, quality, cost, contract provisions and safety
- Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
- The ability to convert site sketches to digital drawings for shop drawings or final As Built drawings
- Be able to provide the plumbing team with set out drawings extracted from a combination of Architectural, Hydraulic & Structural drawings to ensure that there are limited or no clashes
- Communication with the various on-site teams whether it be via phone, Facetime or site visits
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Must have tertiary qualification in construction science
- Preferred to have experience in the Commercial Plumbing Industry with a similar role within large projects.
- A current valid Victorian driver’s licence is essential, along with a solid driving history
- Experience using Pro- Contractor estimating software would be an advantage or be keen to learn the program
- Minimum five years of CAD & Revit experience
- Experience in construction communication via Aconex & Procore
The applicant must have following skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at a time
- A thorough understanding of the Australian Plumbing regulations
- Be able to diligently carry out tasks with high efficiency and be proficient at various software packages ( MS Word, PDF, Bluebeam, Nitro and Excel)
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- A proactive team player who values loyalty and enjoys motivating the team members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be capable of liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including the client, consultants, the plumbing team and suppliers
