Salary/Level: Specified Calling Level 2, $107,948 – $118,277 p.a. plus Superannuation
Tenure: 36-months Fixed-term, Full-time
Location: Woodvale, Western Australia
Applied research undertaken by the Animal Science Program seeks to understand the factors and processes that are critical for the conservation of Western Australia's rich and unique native fauna.
We currently have an opportunity for a Research Scientist to join our team.
In this position, you will design and undertake scientific research to inform the effective conservation management of northern quolls and bilbies in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, provide expert scientific advice, and effectively translate results of research to inform conservation priorities for these species.

Selection Criteria
- Relevant experience in planning and implementing remote-area ecological research on threatened fauna to address conservation management questions.
- Sound knowledge of experimental design and complex statistical analyses applied to informing effective conservation management of threatened fauna.
- Demonstrated ability to publish research findings in a range of formats in a timely manner, including peer reviewed journal articles.
- Well-developed skills to work in research teams and build innovative programs around collaborative research.
- Proven ability to effectively translate research outputs and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve conservation outcomes.
