THE ROLE

As a Senior Fire Engineer, your role will be critical in developing fire safety strategies and Performance Solutions across a wide range of projects while driving the achievement of key business objectives. DUTIES

• Provide leadership and support to the team, including training for Graduates
• Assistance with the development of business initiatives and client relationships
• Working with the team State Manager / Director and assisting with day-to-day operational tasks
• Identifying a need and hiring additional personnel
• Assist the team State Manager / Director in conducting annual performance reviews of the team
• Assist with business budgeting and forecasting on a quarterly and annual basis
• Review and assist with pricing structures to ensure competitiveness and relevance
• Preparation of fee proposals
• Conduct fire engineering analysis, calculations and modelling.
• Performing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and fire and smoke modelling to assess fire behaviour and develop effective safety strategies.
• Conduct occupant egress modelling to analyse safe evacuation.
• Assessing and evaluating fire safety solutions and innovations to ensure compliance with relevant building codes, and standards.
• Developing fire strategies to meet the Performance Requirements and local codes.
• Develop fire safety engineering performance solution reports.
• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to provide holistic fire safety solutions.
• Develop innovative calculation tools and methodologies to enhance fire safety engineering analysis.
• Liaise directly with design team members and contractors, participating in design meetings/authority meetings/site inspections and client functions.

ABOUT YOU
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Fire Safety Engineer
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or state registration (fire safety) obtained will be viewed favourably but not essential.
• A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; Civil/Structural disciplines will also be considered).
• Possession of a valid NSW driver's license and access to a readily available vehicle
• Passion for improving fire safety in the built environment
• Strong creativity, drive, and attention to detail
• Proficient across Word/Excel/Outlook with a willingness to learn new software tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
• Proficiency in report writing and mentoring capabilities
