The Role

We are hiring Residential Youth Workers to assist with a variety of shifts across multiple organisations covering Sydney and Newcastle locations. The shifts will range from days, evenings, overnights and weekend work.

Next Step Medical support a number of Residential Out of Home Care providers within Sydney, giving you the opportunity to work across a variety of key organisations.

Next Step Medical are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Residential Youth Workers for this role.

Shifts will be offered on a casual basis according to your preferences, skills and experience. We require those who will bring a solid understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice as well as a strong work ethic and resilient attitude.

Pay Rates & Benefits

• Base salary is paid between $35 and $53 per hour plus super
• Night and public holiday penalty rates on top of the base rate
• Staff are supported by experienced Rostering Consultants

Location

Sydney & Newcastle

To Be Successful:

• A minimum of six months of paid experience in therapeutic residential care or crisis accommodation for young people
• Demonstrated experience supporting young people with complex and challenging behaviours
• Diploma or higher in a community-related field (or working towards)
• NSW Drivers Licence (Minimum P2)
• Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Unrestricted Visa Holder
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Willingness to undergo a police check
• Must be available for day, evening, and weekend shifts including sleepover shifts

Desirable:

• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) trained
• NDIS Worker Screening
• Youth Mental Health First Aid
• Experience working with Indigenous and CALD clients
