About the Opportunity

Piacentini & Son were recently awarded a 9-year contract for Kimberley Mineral Sands Thunderbird Operations, a greenfield Mineral Sands mine 140km by road between Broome and Derby.

We are seeking an Experienced Health, Safety & Environment Advisor (HSE) for works based at our new Broome Site. As a HSE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance and well-being of our team. This role will work closely with site management, whilst being strongly supported by our Bunbury, WA based HSEQ team.

About the Role

• Development, coordination and monitoring of the company safety policy, programs and procedures
• Ensure consultative mechanisms are developed and that consultation is occurring between management and employees
• Evaluation of safety products and personal protective equipment which are used within the organisation
• Job Hazard Analysis and safe working procedure development
• Consult / advise to senior management
• Conduct investigations and analysis of incidents, first aid, hazard and accident reports, to identify root causes and trends
• Monitor and keep up to date with Legislative requirements and OSH literature relevant to the company operations
• Induction of manager, supervisors and employees as to the company safety management systems
• Development and coordination of OHS training programs for all employees
• Keep organizational HSE records and statistics
• Periodic auditing of HSE management systems

About You

• 3 + Years Experience in a similar role
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
• ICAM Lead Investigator Training
• First Aid Certificate (Senior or higher)
• Display a clear commitment and focus on the health, safety and well-being of all employees
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence
• Willingness to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug / Alcohol Screen
