Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

What you'll be doing

The role is responsible for providing administrative support for the Prince of Wales Hospital Nursing Education and Workforce Team in a timely, efficient and professional manner.

This position requires excellent customer service skills in interaction with all facility staff, including nursing & midwifery, hospital executives, medical staff, all other health care professionals, and external providers and consumers.
The role must be efficient in utilising multiple technology platforms and data entry such as workforce data, calendar invites, room bookings, education calendar development and meeting competing requests and changing deadlines.

  1. Demonstrated recent administration experience, including the ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks, monitoring and determining work priorities to enable adjustments to workflow as required.
  2. Experience of responding to a range of enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
  3. High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
  4. Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures.
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and standard office software packages and the ability to learn new systems as required
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives, while promoting positive workplace culture.
  7. Experience with other office equipment (eg audiovisual) troubleshooting and supporting stakeholders with same.
