The Role

Looking for a hands-on leader to head up the R&D function and team in developing and improving products to drive the highest standard of quality and innovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, as well as leading 3rd Party Manufacturing. Responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage the R&D team, driving outcomes and a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Manage multiple new product development projects from concept to launch into Operations environment and commercialisation in a timely manner and within budget, ensuring they align with customer satisfaction and trends.
• Continuous improvement and simplification of existing products and processes.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to align R&D initiatives with business goals and deliver projects.
• Oversee product trials, working closely with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure optimal ROI.
• Research industry and market trends, including recent ingredient innovations and packaging technology to keep business at the forefront of product development.
• Lead the identification and management of third-party manufacturing partners.
• Provide technical expertise and strategic leadership for innovation projects aligned with business’s growth plans, driving these projects to success and completion.
• Collaborate with the Packaging Technologist to coordinate and execute sustainable packaging initiatives.
• Ensure all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety, complying with relevant regulations and standards.

Your Background

In order to be successful in this role, you will have:

• Degree in Food Safety, Science or a related field
• 7 years’ experience in a hands-on R&D role
• Food manufacturing experience essential
• Strong leadership and influencing skills with proven experience of driving and delivering projects
• A thorough understanding of quality standards and food safety
