The Role
We are looking for a talented Payroll / Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team. You will be an experienced Senior Payroll Officer able to manage our end-to-end payroll processes, along with the capability of ensuring all customers' accounts are correct and monies collected within the company trading terms. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and excel at keeping things running smoothly, you’ll hit the ground running as you play a key role in our team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing end-to-end payroll services and processes for approx. 60 employees across 3 fortnightly payrolls for two states, including monthly commission calculations.
- Processing new starters, terminations, and redundancies with precision.
- Handling end-of-month and end-of-year activities to ATO.
- Assisting with system upgrade testing and implementation.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Taking on general administrative duties to keep everything running smoothly.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, including taxation, superannuation, and industrial agreements.
- Accounts receivable and debtor control.
- Conducting debtor reconciliations and following up on outstanding accounts.
- Managing the accounts receivable inbox and responding to client queries.
- Allocating and receipting payments in a timely manner.
- Preparing monthly debtor reports and assisting with cash flow forecasting.
- Working closely with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years' payroll experience
- Expertise in payroll delivery across multiple locations, with a strong understanding of industrial instruments.
- In-depth knowledge of legislative requirements, including Payroll, PAYG, FBT, payroll tax, and superannuation.
- Sound understanding of Industrial Relations Legislation, including the ability to interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements, while maintaining a commitment to confidentiality and privacy principles.
- End-to-end Accounts Receivable experience.
- A high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in every process.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Strong time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines effortlessly.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency
We are flexible as to days and hours worked but the role is based around 24 hrs per week, with an immediate start.
