The Senior Clinician plays a vital role within our multidisciplinary team, working directly with consumers, their families, and supporters. Collaborating with the Team Leader, you will leverage your professional expertise to deliver evidence-based, best-practice mental health care while providing leadership and guidance to your team.

Key accountabilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: Actively lead and participate in clinical activities within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
  • Team Coordination: Facilitate team meetings, coordinate clinical case reviews, and manage daily operational tasks, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Consumer Care: Provide direct and indirect support for complex presentations and maintain a manageable caseload alongside your leadership responsibilities.
  • Service Improvement: Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of service delivery and programs offered by the Ararat Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team.
  • Rural Service Commitments: Participate in weekend and on-call rosters to support the unique needs of our rural community.

Skills and experience

  • Registered Nurse RPN4 Grade 4
  • Occupational Therapist Grade 3
  • Social Worker Grade 3
  • Psychologist Grade 3
  • Advanced assessment skills, and the ability effectively manage complex clinical presentations.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team while also excelling autonomously.
  • A passion for providing high-quality care and contributing to service development.
  • Previous experience in a Community Mental Health team is preferred
  • Experience in a senior role would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Relevant professional qualification one of the below health-related disciplines, and current registration where applicable.

Relocation Support

Up to $15,000 incentive payments may be available to support relocation (paid as a reimbursement for Bond and rent, travel costs, removalists, accommodation, visa application fees and more).

The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill.

The new workforce relocation and incentive grants program is being administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).
