GBOOSH is a not-for-profit community-based centre providing care for 5-12 year olds in Before School, After School & Vacation Care. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated leader to work alongside our existing Nominated Supervisors.
As Joint Coordinator/Nominated Supervisor/Educational Leader you will be passionate and committed to leading our team to provide quality OOSH programs to our community.
Essential Criteria:
- Diploma in School Age or Early Education & Care or university degree in field relating to working with families/children.
- Valid Working with Children check number.
- Current approved First Aid Certificate.
- A comprehensive understanding of the role of Nominated Supervisor including duty of care, supervision, Child Protection and risk management responsibilities of working in a care environment.
- Experience working with school age children, with a commitment to child safety and continuous improvement through the NQS.
- Experience implementing & evaluating developmentally appropriate, engaging programs in the child care/OOSH industry as an Educational Leader.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to ensure you develop positive relationships with children, families and community stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within a close-knit team to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the service, seamlessly delivering a fun, nurturing and inclusive program.
- A natural ability to inspire your team to achieve at the highest standard through positive role modelling and mentoring.
- Confidence and ability to make practical and sometimes challenging decisions, on the spot. Be flexible and adaptable to change.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge:
- Experience participating in the development of a Service Inclusion Plan (SIP) to support funding applications, ability to work alongside children with additional needs to provide inclusive care opportunities.
- Ability to oversee the development and management of our web-based roster system to build a dynamic team for each session and ensure compliance with ratios.
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including My Time, Our Place & National Regulations.
- Commitment to safety and an understanding of risk management practices in a child care setting including participation in conducting risk assessment, implementation and review of policy and procedure to minimise risk, as well as effective emergency/incident management.
As member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for working with, guiding and supporting a team of dedicated educators and engaging with families and school aged children in our service located on the grounds of Gymea Bay Public School.
This is the perfect role for those looking to use their extensive experience working with children and their families to provide a high quality, inclusive service to our community.
Permanent Part-time hours will be negotiated with successful candidate, between 30 – 35 hours per week (with some flexibility) rostered Monday - Friday (between the hours of 7am - 6pm). Please note this role does require the ability to do split shifts approximately 3 days per week.
Salary conditions are subject to negotiation with each candidate based on skills and knowledge. Training and inductions to commence ASAP!
