About the role

Commune Group is looking for a talented Commis Chef to join the team at our Hanoi Hannah restaurant in Elsternwick, Victoria. This is a part-time role, with the opportunity to work in a vibrant, fast-paced kitchen environment that serves delicious Vietnamese cuisine.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in all food preparation and cooking duties
• Ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards and in line with the restaurant's recipes and presentation
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment
• Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
• Participating in menu development and providing ideas for new dishes
• Supporting the kitchen team as required to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers

What we're looking for

• 1-2 years' experience as a Commis Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen
• Knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine and flavours is highly desirable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to food quality
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Food safety and hygiene certification
