Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Research Ethics Liaison Officer to join Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Research Ethics Liaison Officer is part of the Research Ethics Advisory Team in the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, and provides high level support working alongside the Research Ethics Coordinator (Human) and the Animal Welfare and Ethics Coordinator, assisting with human and animal research ethics and applications. The position will liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including researchers, areas within the Research Portfolio and research ethics review committees.

Office of Research Ethics and Integrity (OREI) supports researchers by providing education, guidance, process and advice for research ethics, biosafety and responsible research practices to embed a high-quality research culture at the University. The OREI works closely with Governance, Legal and Performance and research ethics review committees to provide a high-level quality advisory service to researchers and research facilities at the University..

What you need to succeed

1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree with subsequent relevant work experience.
2. Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures relating to the research regulatory environment in order to provide clear and consistent advice and training to clients.
3. Demonstrated digital literacy skills including the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite.
4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
5. Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues whilst maintaining
confidentiality in all matters.
6. Evidence of well-developed written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to draft, proof and edit a range of
written material including reports, submissions, memoranda and correspondence.
