EXPERIENCED VET NURSE.
District Vets Maleny are seeking a passionate, dedicated and experienced nurse to join this friendly and professional pet care clinic!
We provide compassionate care to our small animal patients, their families as well as our staff.
We are looking for someone who shares our vision and commitment and who is an experienced nurse or currently studying Certificate III in Animal Care Services, Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. The position ideally would be a full-time position, however for the right individuals we would undertake part-time nurses. The position was held by a full-time nurse who has been with us for over 8 years. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday.

District Vets Maleny is privately owned, single vet small animal clinic servicing Maleny and the surrounds. Most of our patients are dogs and cats. We also see some birds and wildlife.
Your will be involved in all aspects of the clinic.
For example,
- Customer service both in person and on the phone
- Admission and discharging of patients
- Monitoring anaesthetics of general surgery & dentals (as well as visiting specialists) and supporting patient recovery
- Preparing and running diagnostics for inhouse and external pathology services
- Assisting in patient diagnostics, including radiology
- Ordering and inventory of products, consumables and medications
- Handling invoice payments and end of day balances.
- Working closely with the vet in all aspects of our patients care
This role is perfect for motivated, experienced nurses or nurses in training who are eager to learn and grow. You will have the ability to utilise all aspects or your vet nursing skills and experience, not only with our patients but also with customer service skills. You will become an essential team member in providing care to our patients and their families.
Key Attributes:
- A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. (We will also consider a nurse currently studying towards either of these qualifications)
- Strong practical skills and ability to multitask
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Passion for providing top-quality care to pets and their families
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to contribute to the clinic’s success and learn new skills
