About the role
The School of Environmental and Rural Science (ERS) is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Technical Officer to join the School. The Technical Officer provides technical support to all areas of the School and Faculty. The principal responsibilities of the role are to support teaching and research and the management and maintenance of facilities and instruments in the Discipline areas of Ecosystem Management and Botany. The incumbent will be expected to make technical contributions in support of other operations in other disciplines in the School.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant qualification coupled with appropriate experience, or extensive experience and specialist expertise in laboratory management or field sampling and analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated excellent project and time management skills with aptitude and capacity to learn software packages and systems relevant to teaching and research support.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds in teaching laboratory and field work settings.

ERS is a research-intensive School that focuses on solving the big challenges that face our planet and our future. ERS is a multidisciplinary department including geneticists, earth scientists, zoologists, soils scientists, ecologists and ethologists supported by technical and administrative staff.
